Human fantasies are limitless and limitless. Sometimes people can create just an amazing structure, an example of this is the shell house in Mexico, an incredible and fabulous place.
Where is
This amazing building is located in the middle of the quiet Mexican island of Isla Mujeres, not so far from the most popular Mexican resort of Cancun, just under 15 km.
The shell house is far from the first and not the only building on the planet that was created in a nautical style, but it is quite unusual and interesting, unique in its kind. Here you can feel how the surf is rustling, feel the salty air and enjoy a delightful view of the emerald Caribbean Sea.
Interesting facts about Mexico in our article.
The original house was designed by an architect named Eduardo Ocampo, and he did it for his brother, Octavio Ocampo, who is an artist by profession. The nautical style in the interior of the house, as well as its decoration, is a joint work of the brothers. The house is just snow-white! During its construction, a variety of stones, shells, pebbles, corals and wood were used, and it was not done without concrete. If you take a closer look, you can see the similarities with the works of the architect Antoni Gaudi by the smooth streamlined forms of the room, namely the naturalness and organicness of the lines.
In the central room of the house - the living room, there is absolutely no corner - it is round, and due to this, the democratic nature of the entire space inside is emphasized.
The bathrooms, and there are several of them here, are built with washbasins and other plumbing fixtures, which were made of real coral dust - crushed and compressed coral. Not without an exotic touch - the mixer is a medium-sized shell, and this can be called a rather bold and extravagant decision.
One of the bedrooms has a huge bed that resembles a very large beautiful shell. Shelves of transparent glass hang on the walls. Wherever you look, you can see a lot of seashells everywhere, which are everywhere - on mirrors, on shelves, patterns on the walls, armchairs in the form of seashells, showers, walls by the pool and much more. The kitchen is also a room that looks like a mermaid house located at the bottom of the ocean. A spiral staircase that is not too large leads to the second floor.
On a cozy courtyard there is a nice large pool with clear clear water, there are sun loungers nearby, and all this is surrounded by exotic plants and palm trees - in the background the Caribbean Sea is not a place to relax, but some kind of paradise!
Rest in a shell house
Initially, the Ocampo brothers built this house exclusively for their family, but later decided to rent it out for tourists with full wallets. So, in order to stay in such a house for a weekend or for a week or a second vacation, you need to have at least $ 225 for its rent, and this is only for one day! Not a cheap pleasure, but the vacation will be remembered for a long time.
The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay - kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, sauna, swimming pool, internet connection and air conditioning. In addition, there are bed linen, towels, all necessary utensils and personal hygiene items. Often, the house is rented by the newlyweds, after the wedding ceremony. Here they can be either separately or with a small number of guests - there is enough space. Moreover, each guest of this house will be able to get a lot of positive bright emotions and unforgettable impressions.
How to have fun
Despite the fact that the house is a work of art, not everyone wants to sit in it throughout the rest and enjoy the peace and quiet, there are vacationers who, on the contrary, want to somehow have fun. Besides the fact that you can swim in warm water and sunbathe under the warm rays of the sun on the local beach, there is an opportunity to do snorkeling - swimming under the surface of the water with a mask, fins and a snorkel; diving - scuba diving at depth. You can visit bars and discos, which in the dark begin to light their lights and turn on the entire public and tourists.
Swimming with dolphins or ... sharks will be no less interesting activity!
