There is good news for tourists who like to spend time on the beach of Catalan Altafulla! From now on, the beach will be equipped with special stations for recharging electronic gadgets and devices, as well as "distributing" the Internet via Wi-Fi. By the way, this is the first such beach in the whole of Europe.
It would seem, what's wrong with that? The "highlight" is that the station uses the energy of water - with the help of pressure, electricity is generated, which is then supplied to the needs of vacationers. The project was named "Water Green Project" and allows to generate up to 1000 kWh of energy annually. The cost of the innovation cost the town hall only 40 thousand euros.
Having considered the useful advantages of the innovation, the Congress "Smart Green Cities" came to the conclusion that this pilot project is very promising and in the future the technology mastered by the Catalans should be adopted by other resort areas in Europe. The technology is based on a principle similar to that of a conventional generator mounted on a bicycle. Energy can be used not only to recharge your mobile devices and gadgets, but also to recharge the battery of electric vehicles!
